1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to One Corner ("One Corner", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the One Corner point-of-sale platform, the One Corner POS and Serve by One Corner apps, and our commission-free online ordering, table reservation and digital gift card services (together, the "Services"), including this website at web.onecorner.app.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of the restaurants, cafés, pizza shops, takeaway shops and food trucks that use our Services ("Restaurant", "you", "Merchant"), and of the people who order from, book with, or otherwise interact with those businesses through our Services ("End Customers").

If you have any questions about this policy or our data practices, contact us at contact@onecorner.app.

2. Two Kinds of Data on Our Platform

Because One Corner is a platform that restaurants use to run their own business, this policy covers two distinct categories of information, and it's important to understand the difference:

  • Account & Business Data — information about you as a Restaurant using our Services (business details, staff logins, billing information). One Corner is the data controller for this information.
  • Customer Data — information about your End Customers, collected through orders, reservations, gift card purchases and related activity on your branded ordering page or in your venue. The Restaurant is the data controller for this information — the Restaurant owns and controls its Customer Data. One Corner processes it as a data processor, strictly on the Restaurant's behalf and instructions, to provide the Services.
In short:

Your customers are your customers. One Corner stores and processes their data so your POS, online ordering, reservations and gift cards work — but that data belongs to you, the Restaurant, not to One Corner.

3. Account & Business Data We Collect

When you sign up for or use the Services, we collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Business name, address, cuisine type and other business details
  • Owner/staff contact information — name, email address, phone number
  • Login and authentication details for the admin panel, POS and Serve apps
  • Billing and payment details for your subscription (processed by our payment providers — see "How Information Is Shared" below)
  • Support requests, messages and any other information you send us

4. Customer Data Processed on Behalf of Restaurants

When your End Customers place an order, make a reservation, or buy or redeem a gift card through your branded ordering page, table QR code, or in-venue POS, we collect and store the information they provide on your behalf, which may include:

  • Name, email address and phone number
  • Order details, delivery/pickup address and special instructions
  • Reservation details (party size, date, time, special requirements)
  • Gift card purchase and redemption details
  • Payment confirmation data (card details themselves are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by One Corner)

As the Restaurant, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect this information from your End Customers (for example, through your own customer-facing terms or by relying on it being necessary to fulfil their order or booking), and for handling any requests from your End Customers about their data in line with applicable law.

5. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites and apps, we automatically collect some technical information when you or your End Customers use the Services, including IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and general usage information. We use this primarily to keep the Services secure and reliable, to prevent fraud and spam (for example, on our lead and order forms), and for internal analytics.

6. How We Use Information

We use Account & Business Data and Customer Data to:

  • Provide, operate and maintain the Services (POS, online ordering, reservations, gift cards, admin panel)
  • Process and fulfil orders, bookings and gift card transactions
  • Send order, reservation and account-related notifications (including via email, SMS, or messaging platforms such as Telegram, for internal team alerts)
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
  • Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents
  • Improve and develop the Services, including aggregated, de-identified analytics
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell Customer Data, and we do not use it for our own third-party advertising or marketing purposes.

7. Who Owns Customer Data

Restaurants own the data of their own customers. This includes any information collected through orders, online ordering, table reservations, and gift card purchases and redemptions made through the Services.

One Corner acts as a service provider processing this data solely to deliver the Services to you. We will not use your Customer Data for our own independent purposes, and we will not share it with other Restaurants or third parties except as described in this policy or as instructed by you.

As the data owner, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the right to collect and use your End Customers' data in the way you do
  • Responding to your End Customers' own privacy requests (for example, access, correction or deletion requests) where you are the appropriate party to do so
  • Complying with any laws that apply to your business and how you use customer information, including if you export it (see "Exporting Data Outside One Corner" below)

8. How Information Is Shared

We only share Account, Business and Customer Data with third parties where necessary to provide the Services, and categorise those parties below:

  • Payment processing — payment and billing data is processed by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). One Corner does not store full card details.
  • Cloud hosting & infrastructure — data is stored and processed using Google Cloud Platform and Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, file storage).
  • Internal notifications — order and lead notifications may be relayed to the relevant restaurant's or One Corner's team via Telegram, for real-time operational alerts only.
  • Legal & safety — we may disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of One Corner, our Restaurants, End Customers or the public.
  • Business transfers — if One Corner is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy (or a policy at least as protective).

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share Customer Data with other Restaurants or unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

9. How Long We Keep Information

Retention period

We retain Account, Business and Customer Data for as long as your account is active, and for up to seven (7) years after account closure or the data's collection, in order to meet our record-keeping, accounting, tax and legal obligations, and to support you in resolving disputes.

You (or your End Customer, via you) can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting contact@onecorner.app. We will delete or de-identify the relevant data unless we are required or permitted by law to keep it for a longer period (for example, financial records we must retain for tax purposes).

Where full deletion isn't immediately possible (for example, because information exists in secure backups), we will isolate and secure that data from further use until it can be deleted in the normal course of our backup cycle.

10. Exporting Data Outside One Corner

The Services may allow you to export Customer Data (for example, order history, customer contact lists, or reservation data) out of the One Corner platform — for your own records, marketing, or use with other tools.

Restaurant responsibility for exported data

Once Customer Data is exported outside of One Corner's systems, the Restaurant is solely responsible for securing, storing and lawfully handling that data. One Corner's security measures and this Privacy Policy no longer apply to data once it has left our platform. You should apply appropriate safeguards (secure storage, access controls, and compliance with applicable privacy laws) to any data you export.

11. How We Keep Information Safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hosting with reputable cloud providers — to protect the information on our platform. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should also take care to use strong, unique passwords and keep your account credentials confidential.

12. Cookies & Tracking

Our website and Services may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand how our site is used, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing (for example, tracking a referral link used to reach our site). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some functionality.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights under applicable privacy law — including the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and, for individuals in the European Economic Area or UK, the GDPR — to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@onecorner.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and, in any event, within any timeframe required by applicable law. If you are an End Customer of a Restaurant and your request relates to Customer Data, we may direct you to contact that Restaurant directly, as they are the data controller for that information — though we will assist the Restaurant in fulfilling valid requests.

14. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure providers may store and process data in countries other than your own, including outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure information continues to be protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

15. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for business use by adults operating or working at a restaurant, café, pizza shop, takeaway shop or food truck. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

17. Contact Us

If you have questions, concerns, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at contact@onecorner.app or by phone at +61 480 032 427.
